The Kleinboet (meaning “little brother”) from Hermanuspietersfontein is a Bordeaux-style blend fashioned from five different cultivars.
It is a medium to bright brick red/purple colour. The bouquet offers an intriguing mix of aromas to tempt the nose: blackcurrant, lavender, fynbos, cashew nut and black olive. Expect a medium-bodied, juicy palate to follow that is intense and well-balanced with a dry finish.
This wine lends itself well to accompany less chewy meats like beef hamburgers and moist biltong, or cheddar cheese. Enjoy it now or 7+ years from vintage.
The Hermanuspietersfontein Nr.7 was created by the Master of SA Sauvignon Blanc, Bartho Eksteen.
This wine is brilliantly clear with a vibrant touch of green. The nose is dynamic with notes of fig, buchu, asparagus and green apple being expressed. The wine has good body, refreshing acidic tones and substantial length.
A minerality is also present as an illustration of the maritime terroir.
Pair it with oysters and lemon, goat’s cheese, or apple and rocket salad with mascarpone cheese.
Long length, refreshing acidity, supple consistency, a layered structure, flowing balance and a clean finish.
