Anthonij Rupert Wines doesn't need to deal in fussy monikers to name its wines. The brand is so revered and well-known, it speaks for itself. So this Bordeaux-style red is simply called the Blend.
On the nose, the wine is very forthcoming, wielding notes of softened cherry, blackcurrant and plum with a touch of spice. Alternatively, the palate is quite shy and graceful, reluctantly displaying plum, cassis, black cherry and spice flavours. In terms of texture, the wine is silky, and there is masterful balance of fruit with supportive, slightly spicy, oak characters. The aftertaste is juicy, fresh and lengthy.
