City On A Hill

Vinifying grapes as naturally as possible after sourcing them from old vineyards, the City on a Hill project started in 2015 in the Swartland. Now that André Bruyns, assistant winemaker to David and Nadia Sadie, is making wine under his own label City on a Hill, he wants his wines to be very specific to their site and soil type. At City on a Hill, farming is sustainable with some organic and biodynamic practices used and the wines are fermented naturally in old oak barrels to enhance the sense of place, bottled unfiltered. This is an ambitious project and we can’t wait to see how it develops.
