The White Pearl from Black Oystercatcher was previously rated an outstanding 4.5 stars by Platter's Wine Guide for its 2011 vintage, and this vintage is on par.
This white blend brings the best qualities out of the two varieties that it is fashioned from. The Sauvignon Blanc offers gooseberry fruit flavours and a distinct minerality, while the Semillon adds an aromatic creaminess, plus hints of ginger and citrus. The wine shows good complexity and is full in body on the palate, with a satisfyingly lengthy aftertaste. Enjoy it with creamy mussel soup, spicy seafood, Thai curries and aged cheeses.
