Series M takes its name from the Malbec and Merlot which predominantly define the style of this wine. Series M is a sumptuous wine with a firm core structure for aging. Malbec provides its black fruit aromas and fleshy texture, Merlot adds softness and red fruit aromas, and Cabernet Sauvignon provides the added structure.
Vilafonté the name represents the coming together of two vastly different, great wine experiences from California and South Africa. At Vilafonté there are only two wines which they produce. With this being said these are the only two wines they need as they are of such immense quality. Where this idea originated from is in the formative years, Winemaking Partner Zelma Long noticed two distinctive styles being produced by the vineyards. Both styles were distinctively different and yet both were of the highest quality. Neither style triumphing the other. One share of the vineyard produced a soft, rounded, juicy and fruit driven style. The other side of the vineyard produced a bolder, more powerful and structured style. It was at this point where the decision was made which lead to the emergence of Series M and Series C.
