The Mont du Toit Le Sommet is an absolute stunner. The wine has been maturing optimally in the Mont du Toit cellar and has plenty of legs to last another decade. We loved the wine so much that we negotiated an unbelievable deal with the Estate to get this wine into your house. The 2006 received 5 stars and an Award of Excellence from ENO WorldWine in Germany. Winemaker Bernd Philippi was chosen as 1998 wine-maker of the year by Feinschmecker Weingourmet, and in 2005 won the award for making the best wine in Germany. It oozes with pedigree and will be an incredibly impressive addition to any occasion.
The Vergelegen DNA is fondly referred to SA’s answer to top St Emilion by winemaker Andre Van Rensburg. Indeed, André pointed out that Cheval Blanc chief winemaker Pierre Lurton is a consultant to Vergelegen’s neighbour, Morgenster Estate, and that he had followed Lurton’s advice when producing the blend. This delectable maiden-vintage Bordeaux-styled blend is extremely limited. Only 15 cases of this perfectly matured blend available exclusively to you.
Cape Winemakers Guild Member David Trafford has firmly established himself as one of the Cape’s foremost winemakers, with a plethora of local and international awards for his thoughtful, hands-off, natural approach to winemaking.
