We’ve kept them back, perfectly cellared, but can’t contain our excitement anymore. Due to the astronomically high demand we’re bringing you small quantities of SA’s most sought after wines. Eben Sadie had the vision to rescue the venerable and largely neglected older bushvine vineyards in the Cape winelands and to honour them through highly sought after, extremely limited, multi-award winning bottlings. All blocks of vines date back to the last century, the oldest of which from 1900-1928.
Wines that epitomises their natural expressions and his winemaking prowess. With viticulturist Rosa Kruger he’s spearheaded an awareness for older vines and the fruits can be seen in many wine ranges that have followed suite today. Each wine in the series is named after a vineyard site, with the story behind the name on the back of each label.
The rarest, most exclusive wine in the country, widely believed to be the oldest planted Chenin in SA at 100+ years old. The wine has been awarded as one of the 50 Best Wine releases in the World by Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, scoring a mammoth 96/100 from Neil Martin and also 95/100 from MW Tim Atkin as one of his Wines of the Year. We’ve included two incredibly rare older vintages to make this the most special 3 pack of wine ever featured to Cybercellar customers. Sadly, Mrs. Anna Kirsten who was the owner and custodian of these rare vines passed away on April 10, 2015 at the age of 90 – making it all the more special to own.
