Sharing a surname with one of SA’s best is a tough start, but David & Nadia Sadie have catapulted themselves onto the world stage with their incredible winemaking and viticultural prowess.
Having resigned their respective consultancies to join the ranks of the self-employed, the duo have now found their feet full-time in the Swartland (David was raised there, though he’s unrelated to its other famous Sadie). They’ve moved into the recently restored 220-year-old Paardebosch cellar, neighbours to Adi Badenhorst and down the gravel road from Eben. Becoming independent of rented cellar space has been a dream realised for this dynamic young duo, and the winemaking is thriving as a result!
The four wines produced under the David label are showered with international praise and critical acclaim, including industry heavyweights Tim Atkin MW, Jancis Robinson and Neal Martin. From the spectacular 2015 vintage, each wine very limited and sought after in it’s own right. Most notably, two new additions are making massive waves – a perception shifting Pinotage and very limited, old vine Semillon – only available as part of our mixed case.
