Boschendal's 1685 Chardonnay Pinot Noir is a beautiful illustration of the formidable partnership that results when you combine these two cultivars.
The wine is a striking deep gold colour with tinges of copper and brandishes a nose of inviting and complex aromas of red apples, creamy citrus, ripe strawberries and baked pears. The palate delivers a luscious entry with an abundance of tropical fruit and citrus, and a hint of spice. Overall, this is a wine of complexity, length and ample body. It has enough intensity and structure to sustain it for 5 years from vintage.
A blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir.
