Gabrielskloof The Blend 2017

Gabrielskloof's The Blend may be simply titled, but it proves to be anything but that on sampling it. The wine displays a stunning opaque black-ruby core with a garnet edge. The nose boasts ample blackberry aromas at first, with touches of comforting tobacco, paprika, caramel and leather in hot pursuit. On the palate there is a weighty mouthfeel with rounded and complex tannins that are enriched by the astute usage of oak barrels. Allow this wine some time to age as it will continue progressing for 3 to 8 years after vintage.
