Hermanuspietersfontein's Die Arnoldus forms part of this winery's flagship range. It is a classic Bordeaux-style blend, created from five different cultivars, and has the distinction of being rated 4.5 stars for five consecutive vintages (2009 to the most recent release, 2013) by Platter's Wine Guide.
A medium ruby to garnet red, it exhibits cashew nut, black olive, fynbos, spice and plum on the inviting nose. An intense palate follows that delights with smooth tannins, lots of body, opulent texture, firm structure and great length – basically everything you could want in a wine! Try it with oxtail or sirloin; or cheddar, Gruyère and Boerenkaas.
