4 Top Tips for Building Your Black Friday & Gifting Wishlist:

Scrambling at the last minute to find a gift? Driving around frantically in a flat spin, while you try to find a bottle of your favourite Christmas tipple? Not this year!

Black Friday is around the corner and our Wishlist is your opportunity to get your holiday drinks and gifting sorted – for a fraction of the price!

We’ve put together some tips to help you get your Wishlist Black Friday ready, so you’ll be set to strike while the iron is hot!

1. Know who you’re shopping for

While browsing drinks for yourself might seem like a simple task, browsing for the family can be a little more daunting. But don’t worry, the relief you’ll feel when everyone else is scrambling for gifts and you can sit back and relax makes the bit of prep worthwhile! Not to mention the massive savings on your gifting this year.

Start by deciding who you want to buy for:

our rule of thumb is that difficult people are perfect to buy alcohol for. It’s something you know they actually want and is a surefire way to prove you know them – by getting them their favourite sip.

If you’re not sure what they like, you still have a few weeks to schedule a visit or Zoom wine session to fish for a bit more information – or have a look in their drinks cupboard or see what they usually reach for.

2. Curate

If you know their taste, add at least 3 similar products to your Wishlist to ensure that you’ll see what the best deal is, come Black Friday.

Our advice is to add:

  • One drink you’ve seen them enjoy as a backup (while getting them more of what they like means you pay attention, it’s not exactly very exciting).
  • Something similar, that perhaps has a slightly different element or is highly rated.
  • Lastly, maybe add a product that you know they would like but is usually out of their price range (Black Friday is the perfect opportunity to shop those usually unattainable treats).

3. Know Your Budget

Having a general idea of how much you want to spend can help curb those Black Friday instincts to just ‘ add to cart and then have regrets.

Keep in mind that not every product will have the same deal or discount, so having a lump figure you’re comfortable spending is the best way to ensure you give a little more on some and save a little more on others.

4. Stay Agile

Even though you’ve built your Wishlist, it doesn’t mean you should turn a blind eye to what’s available on the day. Having a quick browse before checkout to see if you find any hidden gems could result in some fantastic finds like our R1 wine flash deals!
