Many a good night has started with a shot of Jägermeister. This German liqueur has achieved legendary status and has a dedicated following the world over. It is made from a secret recipe of 56 herbs and spices, with some of the known ones being citrus zest, saffron, juniper berries, ginger, liquorice and ginseng. A deep brown in colour with glints of amber, it presents a nose that confidently expresses whiffs of spices, sweet herbs and cola. There is a measure of sweetness on the palate with the notes from the nose echoed on the palate, plus added liquorice flavours.
