Trust Johan "Stompie" Meyer to find a vineyard near George, his hometown, which can produce outstanding Pinot Noir. At 960m above sea level, on clay and loam soils, this is the highest of his Pinot vineyards and quite a serious wine as a result. Decanting is recommended. Dark fruit, earth, fresh herbs and savoury notes are all upheld by a lean acidity and robust, yet fine tannins. Incredibly complex and a must-have for any avid terroir explorer.
