Bakermat means “birthplace”. This wine is named so as a tribute to the Joostenberg estate which has been the abode of the Myburgh family for 6 generations. This organic wine is a mix of cultivars, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz featuring strongly. On the nose it presents a bouquet infused with an interesting mix of savoury and dark berry aromas. Complex and medium in body, the palate is typified by well-incorporated tannins and a satisfyingly lengthy ending.
