Yet another brilliant project by brilliant winemaker Reenen Borman of Boschkloof. This Chenin from the Polkadraai hills in Stellenbosch is beautifully aromatic, with lime, white peach and floral notes alongside a hint of leesiness. The palate is equally delicate, with incredible purity of fruit, a lean acidity and steely finish.
And the name? A reminder of both the incredible history and sense of fun in winemaking. "Kottabos" - a game played by the ancient Greeks in which wine lees was flung at targets while uttering the name of the object of one's affection.
