The Sauvignon Blanc is skilfully crafted from organically grown grapes, with a deliciously fruit-driven wine with a generous body. Upfront melon, green apple and lemon notes greet you on the nose. On the palate, its luscious fruit profile is beautifully complimented by an undercurrent of fynbos, adding further complexity and depth. Crisp acidity provides an appealing freshness to the wine. Wonderfully expressive of its terroir, the Pierneef Sauvignon Blanc from La Motte is an elegantly balanced, ample-bodied beauty.
In the other bottle, you'll find the Shiraz-dominated Rhône-style blend to be a textbook example of a cool-climate South African Syrah (Shiraz).
Intense and firm tannins are present, allowing the wine to age for 6 to 10 years from vintage. It has an abundance of flavours on the silky palate, including spice from the Syrah, and rose geranium perfume with mulberry on the nose.
