La Motte has put a lot of thought and patience into transforming their Syrah (Shiraz) from being bold, as this variety usually is, into a more approachable, medium-bodied wine.
On examining the nose of this wine expect an abundance of mulberry fruit supported by savoury nutmeg spice and just a touch of cedar. A taut, fresh palate filled with peppery spice follows.
All in all, a wine of complexity, balance and plenty of freshness. Spicy pâtés, roast lamb or beef, guinea fowl and venison will all make welcome partners to this Shiraz.
