Muratie’s Laurens Campher is a flagship wine of the estate and is named after one of South Africa’s first winemakers way back in the 1600s. On the nose the wine offers vibrant fresh lime and lemon aromas from the Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc, while the Viognier and Verdelho add aromatic floral touches. The palate brims with lime marmalade, almonds and honeysuckle flavours, cloaked in creamy oak. A racy acidity makes its way through each sip, ending in a drawn-out finish. Serve it with creamy chicken dishes that contain just a hint of mild spice.
41% Chenin Blanc, 25% Verdehlo, 18% Viognier and 16% Sauvignon Blanc.
