The grapes for this Shiraz were grown under dry conditions, as the name suggests. This results in small berries which in turn create a generous bouquet and luxuriant finish. A distinct spiciness can be experienced on the nose, with whiffs of white pepper, fresh tobacco, violets and cloves. The palate demonstrates cherries, mulberries and fynbos, with a broad structure, fine tannins and a refreshing aftertaste. The Perdeberg Winery Dry Land Collection Shiraz provides great value as it can be drunk now or cellared for 12 years or more.
Try it with beef casserole, flame-grilled steaks or blue cheese.
