Originally only available in the USA, we’re delighted by Anthonij Rupert Wines’ decision to also offer their Protea range on local shores. Charming and accessible, the Protea Merlot has an enticing savoury bouquet burgeoning with layered notes of cocoa, mulberry, fynbos and oreganum. An impressive palate of rich dark chocolate and ripe berries is complemented by supple tannins and a velvety texture, characters which are attributed to the restrained use of oak. The packaging was made with recycling in mind, so keep the gorgeous printed bottle and store oil or vinegar in it.
