The Meerlust Rubicon is to many, the very definition of the ultimate South African red blend, reflected by the fact that this is consistently our best-selling wine. 2016 sees just 49% Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, the lowest in this esteemed wine’s history, resulting in a charming wine with excellent drinkability, while still delivering on Meerlust’s history of creating classic wines that can age for well over twenty years.

On the nose, the wine shows oriental aromas of plum, sandalwood and perfume, with a touch of creamy vanilla. The medium-bodied palate is fruit-forward with dark berry flavours such as cassis and mulberry upon entry. A wine with an overall impression of litheness and grace.
