In the past the Syrah was blended together with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc to make up the Cornerstone blend. Reyneke feels that the wine has such subtle and beautiful spice, pepper and perfumed aromas which were lost once blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, that they decided to keep the wine and bottle it separately as a Syrah
