Relaxation tips from women in wine

We salute you ladies. The women who are climbing the professional ladder, raising a family, or even just navigating daily life in this crazy world. You all deserve a moment to relax and enjoy sipping on some fantastic wines… so we’ve asked some of our favourite females in the wine industry what their ideal occasion would be to sip on our newest mixed case of Chenin Blanc.

Bianca Lenhardt, Marketing Manager at Backsberg on their Chenin:

“The Chenin is definitely a snack-oriented, easy sipping wine. For me, the perfect occasion for this wine would be a solo weekend getaway: paired with a cheese board, lounging in a wood-fired hot tub with a Jojo Moyes novel in hand.”

Nadia Barnard - Langenegger, Winemaker at Waterkloof on their Chenin :

“When enjoying a glass of our False Bay Slow Chenin Blanc I envision myself taking life “slow”. This would normally be on a Sunday afternoon just as we put our toddler down for her nap – we then light a braai and open a bottle of Chenin. Pure bliss.”

Margaux Nel, Winemaker at Fledge & Co on their Chenin:

“This wine is the ultimate companion for a sunny afternoon in the Karoo veld with a knattering braai fire and some comforting porcini risotto, while my husband takes care of the toddlers.”

Nuschka de Vos, Winemaker at Reyneke on their Chenin:

“There is no greater joy than sharing this wine with friends and a fantastic meal. One of my other favourite ways to enjoy this wine is sipping it when I am working in the garden.”

Carla Bosman, Brand Manager at Bosman on their Chenin Blanc:

“My ritual straight after work is to lock the door, blocking out all three very busy boys just for a wee bit. It’s bath time with a handful of Epsom salt  and a drop of lavender oil. My partner in crime is usually a good book… or Netflix…. and then on a Friday night, I pour myself a beautiful glass of wine to savour in the bath. Now that’s bliss! Who needs a holiday?”
