This pale bronze coloured Swartland Semillon Gris from rare Semillon vines bearing red-coloured grapes can be found amongst the white-berried vines. All the red-coloured grapes were picked from the vineyards and crushed in open vats where natural fermentation is allowed to occur. The short, gentle extraction from the grape skins gives the wine the pale bronze colour in the glass.
Bay leaves, peach skin, rose hip, greengage and warm spices is shown to the nose. The wine is light, fresh and savoury on the palate.
The wine is bottled with no fining and filtration, so natural sediment will occur in the bottle.
