A lively pale straw in colour, the Tokara Director’s Reserve White wields a concentrated nose of quince, granadilla, toasted almond and green aromas. The palate is intense, exhibiting multi-layered complexity. Buttered toast notes and powerful fruit flavours are seamlessly offset by the presence of oak. The mid-palate is opulent and firm, leading to a lengthy, crisp aftertaste. This white blend, which was twice rated 5 stars by Platter’s Wine Guide, shows good longevity and can be enjoyed up to 8 years after vintage. This is the white to serve at special occasion meals – think roasted quail and duck.
