With only 200 cases of its maiden vintage produced, the Monro Merlot 2016 is available in extremely limited quantities, and is selling out fast at the cellar door. We have acquired a limited allocation in order to share with you the story of "Monro"...
"Monro" is the name bestowed on Villiera's flagship wines, which have long been its renowned MCC and Bordeaux blend. However, as Villiera finds that its Merlot best achieves the elegance they seek, showcasing the very best of their fruit and winemaking, the Merlot 2016 has this year replaced the Monro Bordeaux bend as the estate's flagship red. Look forward to a complex wine of elegant structure which is more serious than their existing Merlot, but retains a beautiful, bright red fruit vibrance.
And the name "Monro"? The middle name bestowed on the men of the Grier family who established Villiera in 1983.
