One of the very first farms established in Stellenbosch in 1683, Arnoud Jansz settled on Spier Farm. Used as a working farm, Spier wine was first produced only in 1971 to great success. Multiple additions to the estate include the famed luxurious Spier Hotel, Moyo at Spier, museums, theatres, and more. Spier Wine Farm has created four unique and tantalising award-winning wine collections including 21 Gables, named after the amount of beautiful historical buildings on the estate and 235 block, a wine inspired by collaborations of different artists. The wonderful 1692 Spier range embodies what the wine estate is all about and finally the Frans K. Smit red wine was named after the cellar master.
