"Sheepishly" aromatic. The Hermanuspietersfontein Stertswaai is a new addition to their range, 2015 being the first vintage. A blend of four white varietals which best showcase the cool Sondagskloof climate in Walker Bay, this wine shows a succulent midpalate of gooseberry, fig and apricot, with a hint of salinity from the Semillon component. A bright acidity contrasts a slightly creamy texture and supple tannins from barrel age and 11 months in large French Foudres. Drinks beautifully now, but will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age or decanting.
